“Dive in Wonderland”, the 2025 Japan-produced, animated fantasy feature, directed by Toshiya Shinohara, based one the 1865 novel “Alice's Adventures in Wonderland” and 1871 novel “Through the Looking-Glass” by author Lewis Carrol, stars Nanoka Hara as the voice of ‘Rise’ and Maika Pugh as ‘Alice’, with Koji Yamamoto, Norito Yashima, Ryuichi Kosugi, Kappei Yamaguchi, Toshiyuki Morikawa, Takahiro Yamamoto, Subaru Kimura, Ayumu Murase, Yūki Ono, Natsuki Hanae, Mayu Matsuoka, Shōtarō Mamiya and Keiko Toda, will open November 16, 2026 in North American theaters:
“…’Rise Azumino’ is a modern-day university student feeling lost and anxious about her job-hunting interviews and professional future.
“Guided by a special invitation letter and keepsake left behind by her late grandmother—who loved the ‘Alice books’ and built a ‘Wonderland’- themed space—Rise enters a virtual/augmented-reality Wonderland.
“Her smartphone transforms into an apple and is immediately stolen by the ‘White Rabbit’, prompting her to chase him down the rabbit hole.
“Once inside, she encounters a cheerful, fearless ‘Victorian’ girl named Alice…
“…as Rise and Alice traverse a surreal landscape and cross paths with eccentric residents—including the influencer-style ‘Caterpillar’, the ‘Cheshire Cat’, ‘Tweedledee’ and ‘Tweedledum’, ‘Humpty Dumpty’, the ‘Mad Hatter’ and the ‘Queen of Hearts’.”
