According to internet reports, director Robert Zemeckis ("Back To The Future") has set up a project at Universal Pictures titled "Charles Fort", based on the 2002 Dark Horse Comics miniseries "Fort: Prophet of the Unexplained" by writer Peter M. Lenkov and illustrator Frazer Irving.
Zemeckis (who may direct) will produce from a screenplay by Evan Spiliotopoulos.
"...in 1899, as the end of the century draws near, a strange killer lurks on the streets of New York. Only famed anomalist 'Charles Fort' and his careful analysis of news clippings reveals an unearthly pattern to the crimes. At the same time while monitoring shooting stars, assisted by 'H.P.', Fort encounters an alien, that he teams up with to find the killer..."
