Fassbender Goes To The Head Of The "Class"

Actor Michael Fassbender ("Inglourious Basterds"), looking like a young Christopher Plummer, as the conflicted, but deadly, determined villain 'Magneto' in 20th Century Fox' "X-Men: First Class", literally steals the show from the other humans, blue-skinned mutants and lingerie-strutting telepaths, in this slick, big-budget Marvel Comics' adaptation, directed by Matthew Vaughan ("Layer Cake"), released June 3, 2011.

Set in 1962, "X-Men" focuses on the relationship between 'Professor X' (James McAvoy) and Magneto and the origin of their groups, the "X-Men" and the "Brotherhood of Mutants".

Fassbender is currently in the UK, shooting director Ridley Scott's "Prometheus", playing an 'android' named 'David', in the prequel to the "Alien" film series, while in negotiations to work with Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle, in his new film, "Trance", set for a spring 2013 release.

In 2012 Fassbender will star in a vampire feature, directed by Jim Jarmusch.
